About the team

Within the Corporate Office, our Technology team delivers comprehensive services for our central operations and facilitates knowledge exchange and best practices throughout the Wesfarmers Group.

What you’ll do

Your responsibilities will include project-based infrastructure deployment and implementation:

  • Participating in the creation of infrastructure designs and architectures.
  • Implementing and setting up new infrastructure components (such as servers, storage, cloud services, networking).
  • Leading migration initiatives, like transitioning workloads from on-premises to cloud environments or updating older infrastructure.

Infrastructure automation and optimization:

  • Setting up Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
  • Automating routine activities including provisioning, configuration management, and software deployments.

Technical project delivery:

  • Working alongside architects to convert designs into functional infrastructure.

Security, compliance, and risk management:

  • Adhering to security best practices during all deployment phases.
  • Implementing compliance standards (like ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Benchmarks).

Handover and documentation:

  • Creating documentation for deployed systems for operational and support personnel.

Cross-team collaboration:

  • Engaging with solution architects and cloud engineers to execute designs.

What you’ll need

  • Extensive knowledge of networking principles, virtualization technologies, and automation techniques.
  • Expertise in both cloud and on-premises environments: deep understanding of Azure, AWS, VMware, and Windows Server.
  • Networking proficiency: background with enterprise-level networking firewalls and VPNs.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and service management: comprehension of ITIL frameworks, covering incident, problem, and change management procedures.
  • Skills in automation and DevOps: capability to automate processes using Terraform, PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting tools.
  • Project management capabilities: track record in executing technology projects, including handover to operational support teams.
  • Documentation and knowledge transfer: excellent technical writing abilities for creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), system manuals, and knowledge base content.
