About the Role:

The Group Accounting team, part of Group Financial Control, manages financial accounting for corporate processes. This team of financial accountants collaborates to fulfill Group accounting needs.

This position, alongside another team member, performs income tax effect accounting for Australian operations, overseeing international jurisdictions. It jointly handles planning and delivery of monthly, annual, and period-end income tax accounting tasks. The role collaborates with Finance (Tax, Group Financial Control, Financial Performance and Planning).

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the monthly notional income tax effect accounting for Australian and Singaporean Group entities.
  • Manage period-end Group income tax effect processes for half-year reviews and annual reports, including calculating, reviewing, and analysing deferred tax balances using tax software. Coordinate consolidation of international tax reports.
  • Handle income tax effect accounting for subsidiaries, assessing deferred tax balances and preparing required tax disclosures for statutory financial statements.
  • Maintain all necessary income tax effect accounting documentation for subsidiaries and the Group.
  • Support the Tax team during period-end income tax effect and income tax return processes by liaising with the business, providing financial data, and offering ad-hoc assistance.
  • Assist the budgeting and planning team by reviewing budgeted tax estimates and assumptions quarterly and annually.
  • Analyse accounting standards and offer technical advice on income tax effect accounting to internal stakeholders.
  • Opportunity to learn and support PRRT accounting processes.
  • Engage with internal and external auditors.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers for Group Financial Control and document processes and procedures.
  • Perform cyclical accounting activities.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in tax effect accounting is desirable.
  • Experience preparing statutory financial reports.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders across functions and jurisdictions.
  • Strong detail orientation with financial/commercial analytical skills.
  • Excellent grasp of Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Superb oral and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

Professional qualification (ACA/CPA) or equivalent
3-5 years’ professional work experience in finance/accounting
